Flor da Rosa received Cooking in the Landscape

Last Saturday we were in Crato Municipality to carry out one more session of Cooking in the Landscape, this time in Flor da Rosa Monastery .
About 50 people were there and we had as guests Ana Cristina Pais and Teresa Matos Fernandes.
As always, our goal were not historical recreation, but what we cooked was enough to mention the history of this monument, to jointly think ultimately what do they eat around there in the past when the monastery was built and influenced the region.

The menu:
Black-eyed pea soup with bacon and bread (inspired by the local Abbot soup)
Massada de Peixe (Fish soup with peas and fennel)
Duck rice with purslane, raisins and milk
Ruccola salad with goat cheese and mustard vinager and cinnamon dressing.
BOLEIMA (local cake made by others)

This activity was made possible thanks to the Town Council of Crato and the Regional Directorate of Culture of Alentejo, whom we thank all the support. We also thank the Hotel of the Monastery Flor da Rosa, the LAC, the Seis Marias Farm and Sul Informação.
